Photo of the Week—Lucas horn operated by a rubber bulb on MG TF
| The Roadster Factory received a guest this week. It is an MG-TF owned by my friend Tom Ault, a retired theatre history professor at the local university. Tom purchased the car in India many years ago when he was researching ancient theatre there. When he came home, he shipped it back in parts and reassembled it on arrival. He has driven the car for thirty years, winter and summer, always with just a tonneau cover, and it was a fixture on Philadelphia Street in Indiana, Pennsylvania for many years. TRF is storing the car and perhaps doing some work on the front end this winter, as Tom gets settled in a new home about fifty miles away. Tom Ault’s TF has a feature that I thought you might like to see. It is a Lucas horn operated by a rubber bulb, and it makes a sound like a klaxon. It has always been fascinating to everyone, and passersby on the street often gave it a beep when it was parked. It is very cute—please take a look... |
